+PLUSS: Out For The Win welcomes European colleagues in Ghent

+PLUSS: Out For The Win ontvangt Europese collega’s in Gent

The second project year of +PLUSS is in full swing. The various LGBTQI+ sports clubs are implementing their development strategies and work on the final results is gradually getting underway. During the meeting in Ghent, this resulted in a number of interesting working sessions!

We provided an update on the progress of the strategies and learned from each other in the form of “Action Learning” under the expert guidance of Jane, a business psychologist specialising in change processes. Action Learning is a structured form of discussion in which the group looks for ways to overcome a problem or challenge. Out For The Win is well on its way to achieving many of its objectives for April 2025! We are curious to see if we can continue this positive trend after the turn of the year.

In addition, together with Sportieq, we facilitated a co-creation session to lay the foundations for our guidelines for LGBTQI+ sports clubs and our policy recommendations. We thought about the tone of voice, style and content, but also about the challenge of taking into account the different national contexts in Europe. We were able to count on a huge amount of input from our European colleagues.

In the coming months, there will be many online meetings where we will focus on Action Learning and the further implementation of our development strategy. In addition, together with Sportieq, we will start working on guidelines for LGBTQI+ sports clubs and recommendations for policymakers. So, there are exciting prospects ahead!

The +PLUSS project, led by EGSLF, focuses on promoting the inclusion of LGBTQI+ athletes and combating discrimination in grassroots sport. Want to know more about the project? Be sure to check out the official project page and follow the various partners online for updates.
