Our mission

Sport should be accessible, safe, and attractive to everyone, regardless of their body, sexuality, and gender identity. That's why Out For The Win is building an inclusive sports world for LGBTQIA+ people, using the power of advocacy , storytelling , sports events and education .

Our name

"Coming out" is not a given, especially not in the world of sports. Often, athletes postpone coming out until after their careers. Having to hide a part of yourself can be difficult and, in our opinion, can even affect athletic performance. Therefore, OFTW strives to create a platform where every young athlete can identify with the stories and draw strength from them. We also want to provide information about gender and sexual diversity in sports. Together, we can empower LGBTQIA+ individuals to be themselves, even in sports.

The logo

The OFTW logo consists of three planes that together form a square. A box, you might think... But with our logo we want to make it clear that pigeonholing is not for us. We break the square open, so to speak. We want to break through ingrained and outdated prejudices. The three irregular planes symbolize the diversity within the sport and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Despite this diversity, we try to form a whole and stand together strongly, because only then can a goal be achieved. The two lines also refer to sports lines. Lines that demonstrate the difference between in and out, between point or no point, between win or loss. While 'out' may mean loss in most sports terms, with this project we want to show that 'out' can also be positive, and not only outside the lines, but also on the sports field.
