Out For The Win gives LGBTQIA+ athletes a powerful voice in the world of sports. Everyone deserves to be themselves in sports, but that reality isn't yet a given for every LGBTQI+ young person or athlete. That's why we actively advocate for their interests – determined and inclusive.

 We engage in dialogue with governments, sports federations, and clubs. We address barriers and exclusion, but also contribute constructively to finding solutions and developing policies. Because inclusion is not a luxury – it is the foundation for safe, fair, and accessible sports for everyone.

💬 What does that mean in concrete terms?
Recently, we actively contributed to the new action plan on gender and sexual diversity in sports, together with Sport Vlaanderen and Sportieq. Thanks to our input, the voice of LGBTQIA+ athletes is also heard and taken into account at the policy level.

Together, we will transform the sports sector from a place of exclusion into one of empowerment, connection, and visibility.

INITIATIVES

We support projects that contribute to a more inclusive and safer sports sector as time allows. We are pleased that many promising initiatives are underway behind the scenes at various sports organizations. Over the years, we have supported various initiatives and helped with several small and large projects. A selection from the list can be found below:

  • "A heart for sport" campaign by Sport Flanders
  • An inclusive sports regulation at KLJ
  • Update of the gender scan at Sportieq
  • Awareness campaign for the Flanders Classic World Championships "Chasing the rainbow together"

In addition, we have developed various guides and tools that should contribute to a more inclusive sports world where LGBTQIA+ athletes feel welcome and safe.
